Since I am quite new to Chennai, I was wondering if there was any member with whom I could catch a ride, if they are coming past my way?

I will be around the West CIT Nagar area that morning, so if there is anyone who is going past that area and who doesn't mind picking me up en route, please let me know. I don't want anyone to take a detour etc. Only if II happen to be on your way to the hotel. Otherwise I can always hitch a cab since the route seems straightforward.

Thanks,
Jinx.

Well if you want revenge ... you can go to the local slum in the morning and announce free Biryani (or a Badaa Khaana) at the venue and point out the exact directions to get there ... :ohyeah: :D

--G0bble

What for??? I do not understand your way of thinking, which is always -ve

Nice one gobble.. also added with free live music of various kuthu songs of tamil hit. then the venue will be like this..:p

Am sure you can do that also, after all that is the local flavor of the place.

Your imagination is not malicious enough Srini ... think relief camp with the starving unwashed masses ... :D :ohyeah:

--G0bble

Yes exactly, not everyone has malicious way of going about like you the red devil.

LOL

+1

No, they would not be required to pay any charges

Bro, apparently the others who have replied have not taken the query in the right spirit & hence the 'malicious' replies

I was hoping someone would reply but didn't happen sadly.

Ajinkya, the venue is about 4 odd kilometres from (well known) CIT Nagar (adjacent to Nandanam) and less than 2 kms from (little known) CIT nagar located close to TTK Road. Unfortunately I'm required to take my speakers to venue early in the morning to be part of a vendor's suste, else I would've picked you up.

You would be better off to take an auto to the venue. Should cost you not more than 50-60 bucks.

Thank you for your good wishes guys; I'm about to pack my speakers for bringing it to the meet.

Edit: Just noticed that the forum's clock has got advanced by one hour.

Thanks Capt.Rajesh, Srini, Murali and Rajiv for organizing such a fantastic meet, truly a South India Meet. Had a whale of a time listening to some great gear, meeting fellow members from Chennai, Kerala and Bangalore Chapters.

Excellent effort guys. Always a pleasure attending your meets :)

It was a really good day, both for sound and for socialising, and the venue worked out very well. Just right, in fact. Congrats to Rajesh, Srini and everyone else who supported their hard work in getting it together.

The professionals there, the sponsoring exhibitors, did some great work too. It is hard enough packing/unpacking just one system for an occasional house move: these people put a huge amount of work into setting up gear, some of which was very very heavy too.

A special word for Prashant of Pandam Audio, who ensured that, in the end, we did have a Genelec presence. He proudly exhibited the smallest (by a very, very long way) speakers in the meet and, even as someone who has already fallen for Genelec in the past, I was just astounded. They are 1/4 the size of my monitor speakers and sound 4 times better. Only snag: they cost 4 times as much! And another special word for the Analogue Audio Labs guys who brought not only their equipment but also their enthusiasm.

We finished the day listening to a pair of power amps almost as old as I am!

Yep, it was an wonderful musical day to meet and greet the faces of known forum handles + new forum handles + out of forum members.

Trust everybody is happy with the musical treat with the system showcased by the Team - ProFx, Team-The Audiopeople & Team- Analog Audio Labs. Many thanks for the three teams to carryout an excellent and tremendous effort to bring the mighty speakers to tiny cables which makes the day musical.

Many thanks to Mr.Shankar of Team-ProFx , Mr.Harish of Team-The Audio People & Mr.Byju Chacko of Team-Analog Audio Labs. :clapping:

Good to know that you are happy with the show.. Needless to mention the MBL bookshelves sounded like floor standers with outstanding sound when paired with Dared tube amplifier and would like to know I believe you are the lucky one to book the last pair ? .:)

What a great day it was! every thing was organized so well, the sponsors were very professional and patient enough to play tracks of our request. I'm really impressed on tube amps on how they sounded on different speakers which was played towards the end of the event. I've fallen in love with KEF R900 which sounded so pleasant and soothing (Now the toughest part, I need to find a way to grab them which could even take years..lol) and Q300 did a great job for its size. This event has opened my eyes deep into the audio world, thanks to kurvilla jacob for sharing his knowledge on vinyls.

Would like to thank captain, Scrini, Rajiv and Murali for organizing and planning this wonderful event.
