Hi Guys,

After AV, FS & Sub, now time for cables :p

AV = Marantz SR-6010
FS = Polk RtiA7
Sub = SVS - PB-2000 (Dual)

Following is the setup I am planning.
FS in front
Sub in middle of the room facing each other.

With these in mind, I guess the FS would require 5 meters and Sub will require around 7 meters (RCA) with power cable running along side.

I read many posts and guess 14 AWG should do as Polks have 8ohms impedance.

Anyone particularly from Chennai know locations where I can get from and approx price ?

Just saw this thread. You don't require 14 AWG for such short runs/8 ohm speakers. 16 AWG is more than enough.

Speaker cables are available in Ritchie street, Chennai, but I haven't found any branded stuff there. If you are willing to buy online, check this from Hifimart.

I agree with Calvin. Based on my recent search for quality speaker cables I found that Ritchie street has got many options on cables but finding the branded or reliable one is very hard. I finally settled with DAC 16 AWG bought from HifiMart and I am very satisfied with the quality.

Thanks,
V

Hi,

To enjoy a great performance from the Marantz, ensure you use appropriate gauge of speaker cables depending on distance of placement..14-16 awg will do. Branded ones would be expensive, the local dealer would have a Thailand or imported one which will also work the same...you need to see the quality of copper in the cables to determine which is good.

There are many subwoofer cablesn available, I use BlueRigger which I purchased from amazon for some 500 odd..6feet...it works like a charm and no issue till date!

Mine is 6ohms speakers poineer fs52 center c22 and surr bs22...for me which AWG speaker wire should and brand sufficient. Best budget speaker wires .

Thanks in advance guys
