I have been quoted 67K for Jamo C607 (Cinebells Hyd).

I'm wondering if any (better/comparable) speakers in that price range that I should audition.

Would appreciate any pointers on what else I should consider/take a look at?

For the record... I did like the sound of the Jamo C607. I listen to a lot of rock, pop-rock and hip-hop (lots of guitar and bass).

PS - I'm based in Hyd... so not many options here but I can drive down to Bangalore but would prefer not to.

I my opinion Monitor Audio Silver RX6 Floorstanders for around 70k are the best speakers in that range.

Daali Daali Daali. Try Dali Ikon 6 at Vector systems if they have. I have heard and read so many good things about this towers.

Why not one which will suit for both... Looks bad to keep 2 floorstanders side by side:p May be one floorstander for HT and another BS for stereo:)

Need the stereo setup for my work/study room. No TV there. TV is in the bedroom where the wife watches serials and movies. So I need to go for 2 setups.

BS is a good idea and I did think of KEF Q300 but kind of upped the budget after hearing the Jamo C607.

Try the Epos Floor Standers too by side of Dali and Jamo:) Good for Stereo but not suitable for metal kind of music:) I love my Epos M5i BS, it is tiny and sweet with good bass for an small room but I prefer FS now after switching over to Thiel.

I heard the Usher Be-718 at a friend's place. Did like the sound signature but did not like the bass. I listen to a lot of hip hop!

if you did not like the bass in be718, there is a good chance you wont like the bass in any of the standmounts as be718 has some of the nicest bass for the size. look for floorstanders with multiple woofers. Or look to attaching a sub. No offense but people that listen to hip hop usually want artificially raised bass, good old regular tight bass isnt enough.

Klipsch RF-62s? They definitely do good in the bass department but I am not sure of the hip-hop music. I know it is not metal (else Klipsch will be perfect) but does that genre need bright speakers?

Else, PSB Image T6? Very very good bass, and very clean sound :)

And as Srini mentioned, give the Monitor series a hear from Paradigm :)

Not sure of availability in your city.

Musicbee most of the speakers mentioned here are good but for your kind of music like what milestoneseeker had said Klipsch should fit the bill. Its the parent company of Jamo I think you can audition these are Cinebels itself.

Ok. Will keep that in mind.

Not sure of Klipsch. Blasto (with whom I went for the auditioning and the guy at Cinebells) both were stating they lack in detail. Just lots of power. Not sure it will click with me but I'll have a listen.
