Dear All,

Need suggestions on Audio/Video magazines (pref) weekly/monthly/yearly etc or even book(s).
Which are very informative and use plain and simple layman terms and avoid too many technical jargon's.
It should cover basic topics , issues and maybe even DIY tips.
Basically, answers to many questions a beginner seeks.
Product Comparison / shootout / price indications / forthcoming stuff etc anything that makes it an interesting read.
Theres a plethora of options available online but you cant be online all the time.

Many Thanks
Abhishek

As suggested, What Hifi is "lite" reading. Very brief descriptions and fairly to the point. Covers stereo & home theater and won't bore you with much technicalities. You can read all about budget gear to fairly high-end gears. Lots of glossy pictures, too.

For more serious reading, Stereophile is simply great (one can safely ignore the plethora of graphs and technical explanations without missing out on the meat of the reviews). Once in a while, Stereophile will cover entry level gear they feel is outstanding for the money. I especially love Art Dudley's columns and reviews, more for his vivid imageries and not-too-moderate views that he's wont to inflict on readers, than his equipment reviews. He has a way with words and I've learned quite a few new words (like bloviate) reading his writing.

Another very good mag for serious stereo reading is hifinews and Record Reviews from the UK.

The record reviews of both Stereophile and hifinews and Record Reviews are very good, especially for lovers of classical and jazz.

Ditto The Absolute Sound.

If you want to dive into the deep end of highend, there's hi-fi+ but its content can sound quite a bit esoteric and exotic and may not have much bearing on real-life as it applies to the purchasing power of most of us:lol:

Thanks...that's very close to what I am looking for.
I have just now paid for AV max annual subscription and also ordered 01 copy of T3 just to check the content.
Do you buy stereophile off the shelf in India ? or is it an annual subscription sort, sent from US.

Cheers

Available off the shelf at large bookstores. But costly if you buy a copy so subscribing works out much cheaper.

Try the Audio Critic. Not an easy read but much more informative than the glossy magazines which are little more than photo albums.

Besides, it is free.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
