Taga - TAV 606 V3 - 5.0 Speaker System

Anyone tried Yamaha HTR-3067. Is it powerful enough to drive the speakers...? I saw Boston Acoustics ASW 250 available on ebay. Is it going to be a good purchase subwoofer with this system...? Anyone of you ever used this sub from B.A...?

Hi,

I used the 8 inch version which came along with soundware cubes and also separately the asw650...

Clean deep bass good for music + movies...

The closest match is the Taga SW 10.

Budget been increased to 50 k for the a/v receiver. My personal preferences are either Denon AVR-X1200W or Marantz NR1506. Use same 50/50 for movie and music. Give me choices if there is anything else i should consider for audition.

If you are not into Atmos or DTS X which is still settling around, go for the Marantz, I am sure you will not regret you choice.....

The other most hyped avr is the Yamaha 581.......heard it is on the brighter side of performance...

I am also planning to buy Denon X520BT & TAGA 606 SE .If anyone knows pl share where this combo will be available for audition in Pune & What will be the cost ?

Even I searched a lot in Pune, but no luck. The best place so far I know is MZ audio, Mumbai.
Please let me know if anybody out in Pune owns it. It will be of great help he can allow us auditioning it.

FM ankurjbl is from Pune and is currently out of station....he has recently purchased the Taga SW 10 ....he would be posting his review shortly. He has paired the same with Pioneer AJ series Bookshelf speakers.....

I think quite a few members have purchased the SW 10....see a thread by elangoas which pertains to 2 subs....someone would have posted their review already there

Yes....did audition pioneer here in kolkata. Sounds amazing.....but a little bit worried....it sounds musical and on the brighter side also......I have got Taga TAV-606....is it gonna b a good match....bcoz audition was with other high end speakers. Taga is also on the brighter side of sound.....its not bad....but Bright + Bright.....can be unsatisfactory in long run.

I use Pioneer with Klipsch which are considered the reference in bright sound But seriously i like bright sound for movies. Very lively. I do not listen to music on this system so cannot comment on music

Hi all,

updated my vsx1131 Latest firmware for DTS X and some google cast and internet radio ..installed via WiFi and it went nearly 20 min coz of poor internet speed..all went fine and got a DTS X update congratulation message..lol

also bought Pure Acoustics HT770 BL Mini Cube Speakers for my ceiling heights..fixed for top middle height speakers..Have to listen and tweak more ..but the basic level calibration and DTSX effect is really enjoyable..listened Dolby atoms rain sound track and some atmos enabled bluray movies...purely in love with my HT now

as per the knowledge (since learning) did only once the calibration and as per my taste am tweaking the avr levels and distance in manual way!

if u feel vol level is low and numbers going high means increase the ch levels and distance will solve it! don rely on automatic! trust your ear first!

for movies i will keep pure direct or auto surround mode depends on the feel, and avr i never cossed -30 to -20 ( -80 to +18 is my avr vol limit) .for dts x movies i hav to go -15 levels to hear more puncy on heights..but its overkill for my living style..even at -30 to -20 vol level heights works well and clearly i can feel the sounds individually! MAD MAX atmos disc is perfect killer to try the setup!

Atmos / TrueHD 7.1 content bluray disc are enjoyable !

If you are planning for Taga speakers then once audition Taga Azure speakers. Expensive than 616 but worth for what you spend. Build quality is for better than 616 series. Sound quality natural and little warm will suit to Onkyo. Have not listen Taga 616 but audition 414. Felt brighter and less detailed.

I own a taga 606 se package. Tower speakers are awesome. Good value for money. Center and rears are just average.

Center dialogue delivery is fine but not exceptional. Need to jump up the volume over 70 in AVR to get any decent surround effects from my rears. Clarity wise they are fine (the rears) as they give good sound in 5channel stereo mode. Just the movies in surround sound the rears are not that much felt.

Not necessarily. The center and surrounds less volume can be taken care by increasing levels in AVR. The inmove package will add nothing in my opinion. It is a sub/ satellite combo. Tower speakers in tav 606 should provide better quality. Subwoofer can be added as and when budget permits. Then it should be way ahead of inmove system.

But this is by logic and specs comparison. I have not auditioned any taga speaker. Very few places might be having them in demo.
