Very true. Jaws, Jurassic park and Terminator (1&2) will always be the best since the idea was original. The sequels generally deteriorate subsequently since emphasis is more on vfx and other effects to make it look slick and less on story.

I would add Transformers too!

Though idea of transformer wasn't original, It was first live action Transformers movie. Story was good and felt natural. But, afterwards stories gets forced and emphasis on stories also diminishes. vfx and other effects took over.

I would say T4 (salvation) was good too - it was set in the world where machines had taken over and humans were fighting for survival. It was gritty and scary. T3 and others were not so good - just milking the fandom.

Yes agree, T4 was decent. The best was T2 for me. Potent characters plus laced with humour.
