@Anil: one of my favorite album. But unfortunately all my Indian pressing Paul Mauriat records either on Phillips or Fontana labels are having lots of surface noise even in fresh condition. What's your experience? What pressings do you have?

Bhaskar,
Mine is also Indian Polydor pressing. But when I play it in my changer with Phillips Holland Tube Amp, it cuts out maximum surface noise.
Not a boast: even a good Shellac sounds like LP in this system.

sorry Simon, the vinyls must have been purchased by someone else, i got this with a lot of vinyls

As Christmas nearing ... so thought of removing this disks, cleaning them ans spinning them to test

Rhythm House is a shop in South Bombay where they used to sell a lot of vinyl many years ago. They stopped selling vinyl and sold mainly CD's, DVD's, tapes, etc. But since the last 4 or 5 years they have started selling vinyl again. RIP Lou Reed - the quirky intelligent rocker is no more! Sally cant dance is the only LR album that I have it in vinyl. I recently bought a LRs DVD Spanish Fly-2005 (running time approx 70 minutes) for Rs. 247/- (@ 50% off tag price Rs.495/-) from Rhythm House - it is still shown as in stock at their website. This DVD is pretty good! If you are stereo listener, the PCM audio of the DVD sounds great!

At Dr Bass's place a week or so ago, a Balamuralikrishna LP from 1951.

It is just astonishing...

1. That the record, one year older than me, is in such good condition

2. That the great man's voice was just as great sixty years ago

3. That the great man's voice is just as great (and much the same) sixty years later!

Sunday listening was "Another Page" by Christopher Cross. This is his second album.. Warner Brother US pressing Record.. Excellent recording.
Love to listen this album at night in low volume especially the track "Baby Says No".

RIP indeed, I was very sad to hear the news.

I don't have too much of his stuff on vinyl, I have that Sally Can't Dance album plus i have a near mint UK first pressing of Transformer that I found in Chor Bazaar many years ago. I will spin that tonight in his honour, along with Velvet Underground and Nico
