Have been using a set of Wharfedale 9.1s along with a Yamaha RXV-663 for sometime and recently, mainly using only the fronts alone as extension of TV speakers for parents, as I am mostly away.Came home today and heard heavy distortion from the speakers when watching, came over and this is what I found on inspection.
The same is with 3 of the 4 speakers, the drivers are torn.Even one that was being used as surround has torn like this. These were never driven hard, and is setup at the main hall where parents watch TV, so no question of going above -30 in the AVR.
Can these be easily fixed ? Or is throwing away the only option? Am extremely noob with repair and component stuff, hence asking the gurus here.
Thanx a million in advance for any sort of help....
