Kittu, I have listened to the same. Found it to be decent for music, esp at the price it seems to be going for now, sure is a good deal.

@iaudio: can you elaborate on your listening experience with the towers.
Are they leaning towards in your face sound or more warm and laid back ?
Can you define a little about all the three bands ..... mids , highs and bass.

Like some in this thread, I am also quite tempted to buy the MV8 or M34i towers. However I did
some search in HFV and looks like the price has really not changed a lot.

I am looking at a stereo setup for music and was looking for bookshelfs
in sub 15k range (new or used). The favourites are ofcourse CA S30, Wharf 9.1,
Wharf 9.2, Polk Tsi 200, Usher S520. If we consider new we need to rule out
Usher S520 and from the others Wharfdales seem to be the safe bet according to
others in the forum.

Based on that, my search has the following results:

The above link/post suggests that Wharfdale is better than Mission.

Also the price of M34i has been always in the range of 18k

So now I am not sure if it really is a hot deal and go for the MV8 or M34i?.

Few people like rallynut, aneelr, Suprateep, iaudio have been using the
missions (may be different models) and if they had any chance to audition
the MV8 or M34i, it would be of help if they provide their thoughts/suggestions.

So even for a group buy, the prices for the MV8 and M34i have to come down well
below 18k in IMO, in which case it would make sense to go for these towers.

Any of you had some detailed auditions on mv8 ? except iaudio having short listening experience on those I did not see anyone posting some review on this.

My suggestion is visit the local savoy dealer in your city and audition the mv8s.

I may visit musicranch sometime this weekend or later. But he was quoting the same 5.1 package as 34k .

Correct me if i'm wrong, but IIRC Ebay charges some 6-7% premium for each sales. If we deal with Savoy directly, this will bring down the cost to 22K'ish directly without bargaining. Now with the group buy numbers going 5+, I guess a target of Rs.18-20K for the package looks achievable.

The original offer on Ebay @ 23,990 includes shipping.

Well...18-20K is more of a target (err... wish, but 20K looks achievable) again with shipping included. Else add Rs.800-1000 for shipping since the package is expected to be heavy and huge.

I would think so. The current quoted price for the MV8 package
which has the towers, centre, surrounds and sub is 24k.

The MS 8 sub alone is quoted 11,300 (refer Price list in OP) and the
package includes the centre, and surrounds book shelfs.

So, if we split up the prices:

Say a conservative estimate of

1) MS 8 Sub - Rs 6000
2) centre - Rs 2000
3) Surround BS pair - Rs 4000

That suggests the towers should be available around 10 - 12k
for a group buy.

ebay charges are around 6% but do you realise why deals of the week items are the cheapest? it's because all ebay charges including paisapay are waived off for deals of the week. I have an account manager for my personal ebay account & hence I know, anyone who has one can confirm this.

Could you please check with Savoy regarding a good pricing for the MV-8 group buy. It appears that some are interested in just the towers and some like me for the complete 5.1 package.
