4" Black bar from top to bottom in 3 month old PS64F8500 plasma tv.

Yesterday my 3 month old PS64F8500 plasma TV developed a 4" black bar running from top to bottom, slightly to the right of center of the screen.

Any clues how serious the issue might be? Will Samsung just try and fix it or any hope for a replacement? I have registered a complaint but have to wait until Monday for a technician to visit.
