One of my close friend is going to Barcelona in April for a week. Where can he buy the Tx-Nr609 onkyo in just 7 days time. I heard that 30% VAT deduction can be availed at airport whicle returning if its not used. Any idea guys.

That is the best price you will get it for with B&W. Unbeatable as its from the distri direct. In fact all the marantz models on hifimart have unbeatable prices with B&W.

Thats not true! I see consistently better prices on avtechforums.com! Prankey runs it and bring best prices there and probably that is the reason mods banned him to run their show!!!

Pricing for which models are you referring to??? Also, pls remember that prices offered on hifi mart are directly through marantz distributor & not a dealer as most think. Wonder how a dealer can give better price than distributor, that too with B&W & free shipping???

I tried the amazon.de website, the Denon 1912 was Euro427 and this does not ship to india. There is also a Euro379 one, but it says "it is out of stock will deliver when available." Anybody has actually purchased from amazon.de?

I am a novice, so is it advisable to purchase from amazon/any online site or is it better to shell out the extra bucks but get someone to install the entire thing for you.

By the way, I have a budget of about 70k for the home theatre system, which AVR + speakers would one recomend. My room size is 10ftx13ft, the maxmum use of the HT will be movies (60%), some TV programmes(20%) and some music(20%).

well, i was just referring to the prices mentioned on the other said forum. these prices seem to be from some dealer in bangalore.

agree with you that the prices on hifimart are from the distributor (mzaudio). in fact i have myself been to their outlet some time back to check the available models and prices. i was surprised to find that the prices they quoted with bill and warranty were just marginally higher than the grey market prices.! which is a good thing.

Pls go to the dealers in your city & demo the HT packages in your budget to find out what you like & what you don't. Most important you decide what works for you as ultimately you should be happy with what you end up buying. Also, once you are firm about your choice, check the prices on the selected HT package on various threads already on the forum. You just have to use the search feature for this.

Fortunately bangalore has lot of AV stores with different brands. Looking at your budget , I think you can only get an AVR with a Sat+Sub type of setup.
In fact your room size is more ideal for such setup. If you buy locally mostly the dealer will help installing the equipment or you have to find an installer.

Basic HT setup configuration is not that complex, I am sure you will be able to do it self. Many forum members here can help you on how to?

I saw an add from Profx today , saying 50% off on all left over mall. You may want to visit and see if you can find a diamond in the dust.

AVRs are normally meant for movie purpose for stereo requirement you would require a straight amplification source. Since your requirement majorly towards movies and regular tv shows, you are good with any modern day avr with features that you plan to use.

Look for sub+sat packages which come in your budget. Cables may need 10 to 15% of additional budget than your total HT setup.

I personally liked Klipsch to be very good for movies., I would suggest you to audition the setups and buy.

Hi I am looking for prices for the following:

Marantz SR7005
Arcam AVR 400
NAD 757
NAD 777 (if it has been released)

For someone coming from the 2 channel world, which AVRs compare sonically to the Marantz SR7005? Pioneer? Integra? Anthem?

I am also looking for a good 3 ch. VFM power amp to drive the center and front speakers. An alternate to the 3 ch. power amp would be a 5 ch. power amp where 2 channels can be used for each of the front speakers. One option is the Marantz MM7055, others are the Emotiva XPA3 or Anthem PVA 5. Sadly NAD's T955 is discontinued and Outlaw dont make 5 channel power amps any more. Does Rotel's RMB-1575 compete (in price and sound) with the Anthem, Emotiva and Marantz?
