Got Yamaha 473 for 26K (U.S. model) along with converter from Cinebels, Mumbai.....

Have you installed this? How's the experience? I am bit confused about the voltage frequency differences even with voltage converters, otherwise I 'll be purchasing one from US. Your system get warranty and support from Yamaha India?

what exactly is 4K?

Regards

Well the current good quality and hungered for resolution is HD = 1920x1080 ie 1920 lines of pixels vertically & 1080 lines horizontally.. now.. double it.. and you get..3840 2160 resolution....

4k is a different standard.. just like the ancestors of Wide screen were Squares ... and through generations of mutations (Modifications) the current HD ie 1920x1080 Resolutions have been arrived at. Similarly new in thing in the near future is going to be.. 4096 3072 .. Also called as UHD - Ultra High Def. Hope that helped.

P.S: Companies have started manufacturing 4k resolution TVs for 10k$ or 20k even..

Cant figure out which part of your signature is demanding an upgrade ? ;)

hahaha
Well actually the Onkyo NR809. The Denon 4311CI beats the pants off it . So now need something that can make the 4311CI sound mediocre

So thats the upgrade itch :)

Any idea on the street price of the Onkyo TX NR5010 or the PR-SC5509.....
I am getting a upgrade itch :)

Flash when are you upgrading the 4311? To be honest I don't think the 3010 or 5010 will be a sonic upgrade. The Onkyos might give you more features but as amplifiers go the 4311 is quite good. I would consider the Arcam 600 maybe as a sonic upgrade. Otherwise a 2 box solution with a pre-pro and 7 channel power amp.

Navin, the Denon 4311CI will stay on. The NR809 is something i am looking at getting replaced.
I was going through the Spec sheet of the 5010 and its impressive on paper. So thats what started the itch.

I will take a look at the Arcam 600 and do a spec sheet comparo

How much do you want for the 809?;)

Kittu, I thought you were moving away from HT

Not for me . This is for my sister. Helping to setup some budget HT for them in home town.

Even forum member Imrahn was asking me to find out the price from you.. He is little shy , I guess. ;)

Replied to his PM. But i don't think the 809 would fall into the budget HT segment.
Anyway will PM you the details of what i am looking for
