from where(which stores)did you get these price quites? In chennai, The onkyo authorused distributer quited me close to Rs.100000 for 808 receiver. Cinebels quoted me 111000 for marantz sr7005 and he said he will reduce the price to 95000 (just for me)as if he is doing me a great favour. However, The Audio people quoted me Rs.78500 for marantz sr7005 receiver. You have mentioned marantz AV7005, which is a preamp and SR7005 is a receiver. Yamaha rx-a3000 at Rs.81700 is great. are these prices from global ebay or from mumbai AV dealers? I went to the Yamaha showroom in chennai, and they had no clue of the Aventage series receivers. They just had 1067 model receivers.

They seem to be grey products imported from or aimed at US market. As in the mail, they need step downs. No manufacturer warranty.
Everything is fine, but then with these limitations, aren't prices on the higher side for av7005, 1000 etc?

Well I got these prices from a Mumbai based Dealer named Ashish. he imports these from the US and provides a one year comprehensive warranty. I goggled and found these prices to be lowest in India even when one buys online.

@ anm- Do you think it wd be possible to get somewhat similar price and also warranty from some other dealer? Please help because I was leaning towards buying from him...

Highly confusing, as I mentioned earlier chennai dealers have no clue about these competitive pricing even for DENON where PROFX is expected to quote same through out the country - forget about marantz and yamaha ..

@kittu1977 : he said his firm wd provide one year warranty on all products bought from him. There is a thing called warranty from the dealer if I am not mistaken.

Guys its possible to get your dream AVR/amp in India at not too different a rate from the one in US. Research and make lots of inquiries and ask for a discount from wherever you are buying an equipment as the following price list should be a benchmark.

Most of the models below apart from the Yamahas were on a groupbuy price but the difference in cost even when its not on a group buy shouldnt be much.

Btw these quotes are with Bill and a one year warranty and not Grey market rates so wherever you buy your setup from always insist on a B&W.

I verified it again and this is the price that the dealer had quoted mate. The 3312 is available for Rs 62,750 with him.

Thats the only advantage that the 671 has over 667 but a bigger drawback is that doesn't have stereo pre-outs which 667 has. Moreover I wdnt be too much into use of Network through my AVR.. too much networked already

I have an offer from a dealer for Denon1311 + Polk Tsi300 for rs 37,500. DO you guys think its worth considering? I auditioned this combo and it sounded fine. Not the best but good. Pls advise my friends!
