DIY sub using Peerless driver available locally

George/Antony,

Will an avr like denon 1911 be able to drive this properly. I have 6 bookshelves and was in lookout for a good sub.

Thanks

Denon AVR will give a line level signal, and the sub will need a separate plate amp to power it-it is a powered/active sub that we are talking about here, not a passive one. Please do a bit of research and read up about active subs

These drivers come in a pack of four. He will not ship drivers individually as they could easily get damaged in transit.

The dealer is based in Bombay, you will need to email him directly and find out how you can order from him.

Because of what Anthony states, he may not respond to individual inquiries. IMHO you need to organise a group buy.

Agree captain, group buy is a good idea. In this case, it will be a bit different as buyers have to be grouped according their location - a group buy within a group buy :)

Each driver weighs close to 6-7 kilograms and the bulk pack could be about 30kg. Sharma transport charges approx 350 rupees for Bangalore for the bulk pack (4 drivers). It will be more or less the same with other locations as well. The package need to be picked up from their warehouse.

People can post here for joining/starting a group in their location and place order once the group strength reaches 4.

I will start the first group.

HI Antony
Brilliant effort you're putting in and thank you very much. I'm interested in a sub. Before this thread I was thinking along the lines of Rhythmic servo amp + GR SW-12-04 driver. Now with the US$ at its peak this would turn out really expensive. Could you throw some light on whether the driver on Group Buy would pair with a servo amp? Or could you suggest a plate amp of 200W for the driver?

@Gijo

A 150w to 200w plate amp is sufficient for this driver. Added you to the list.

Group I

2) Gijo George - Kochi

Group II
