You can use logitech URC if you already have one. Himedia is listed in the logitech database.

Welcome to HFV.

Please go through the first couple of pages. I have posted how to change the boot screen of 600B by editing the firmware. The method should be same for 900B. IIRC, the posts were made between August and November 2011.

picked up the HiMedia HD600C this week from Detna .. So far , am not very impressed ... the UI is pretty slow and unresponsive (I was using a PS3 to stream until now) ..

My question is that in certain AVI files, the audio is broken ... the same files play flawlessly on my ps3 .. any idea why ??

And also, all my files are on a NAS and there is no HDD in my HiMedia player .. Is it possible to create the Media Library from the NAS files .. Currently, I have to go through the file browser -> uPnP -> NAS -> flie tree structure -> play movie !! is there an easier way ??

UPDATE :- I finally downloaded and watched a 1080p MKV file with DTS using the Himedia and - WOW , it was totally worth it !! something which I couldnt do on my PS3 !! whole lot of MKVs and Remuxes in queue !!

I am looking for a media player and came across the Himedia Q5. i have asked this in an another thread as well, I hope thats not an issue

Would love inputs from current owners regarding how it fares? I will be connecting it to my Onkyo Tx-sr705 AVR.
i have read around and it seems it has a lot of features and it kinds of suit my needs.

I also saw the WD live and Asus mini plus but for Rs5000 the himedia seems like a it has a lot of tricks up its sleeves.

Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

Dear All !!!

I have a Himedia 600C for more than a year now. I have 2 questions!!! Kindly help...

1. I guess the firmware version in 1.0.5.7.
The website has 4 firmware updates after that, viz. 1.0.6.17, 1.0.7.11, 1.0.7.28.
Since each firmware has their bug fixes, should I install each firmware from 6.17 till 7.28 individually?? Please clarify.

2. Off late the fan makes too much noise, I guess due to dust. Any idea, how I can open it and clean it? or should I give it to Detna only to do that? I tried opening it, at one stage, there were neither any screw nor any singled out part of the case, that I could remove.

Something went wrong terribly....

I followed the exact same procedure... Switched off -> connected the USB to the first USB port on left, kept the reset button pressed and switched on the player, till I got this screen ....

Now I released the reset button, Then it came to a blue screen, saying initializing setup.

Next screen as below, but moved only till where you are seeing and got struck there....

Waited for about 10-15 mins and restarted the player and repeated the same.

Downloaded again to ensure that there is no issue with that file and infact tried with a lower version also. Still it is getting stuck, exactly at the same position.... :annoyed:

When I restart the player now, I am getting the initial upgrading screen.

I am damn worried now..... Please help me to get out of this mess!!!! :sad:

This is Himedia 600C, by the way!!!

Another issue: The green color of the setup indicator was so bright that, it lad left a IR, in the 2-3 tries I did itself and I am running the white scroll bar to clear that also

Can some one please help me!!!

IIRC, the FW installation will take around 30 minutes. Be patient while installing FW. You could also try a lower version if the one you tried is having problems.

Thanks Baiju, for the quick revert...

The initial few tries were for 1.0.7.28 (latest fw), then tried 1.0.7.11 this morning (after your revert).... that is also stuck at the same point!!! Started at 7:20 AM, now it is exactly 1 hour - it is at the same point, as in the screenshot

While, I have not stopped it and is continuing, currently downloading 1.0.6.17..... :sad:

Will keep you posted.

Anyway of doing any other way of factory reset, to get it back at least to what it was earlier?? :sos:

Removing the hdd is recommended before installing FW.

Finally!!! Its done....

The issue was actually with the USB memory stick, I had used . I tried using another stick and it worked like a charm, within 5 mins.

Now it is scanning the database guide - for almost an hour and half now..... not sure when it will end

Hope there will be no other surprises in store for me
