What kind of albums are you looking for?
I mean in most of the shops which sell Audio CD's you will find some collection which will be sold at lesser price than MRP. I saw couple of them in Sangeet Sagar as well. If you are planning to buy in bulk why don't you go to Gujarat Gali there you will get these stuff at wholesale price.
Looking for OLD english songs as well as hindi oldies for my folks..now that I am getting my baby within a month.. wana start off by giving them them a treat by playing few of their favorites..
Like ENG: Elvis, Beatles, Cliff Richard etc and for Hindi: Manna de, Kishore, etc...Have no clue about most of em.. so.. u know.. dont even know where to start searching form..:sad:

I dont know. ts been really long since I actually bought OLD hind/ Englsh cds// last time i bought my CDs was about 6 months ago..bought some of my favs from childhood a CD i got was about 350/- but I expect the old hindi to be close to about 80-90 but I am in search for the price close to 60 so that i can pick up more cds
Sangeet Sagar has a great collection of music and movies. All genres.
My wife picked up a ton of old music from one of the bookshops (Borders?) in one of the malls like City Centre or InOrbit. Not sure which. They all have a lot of old music usually at discount prices. Pick original labels if you can. A lot of discount CDs have very average recordings which just sound like junk on a good music system.

Yeah I agree about the lower quality recording, about last year I had actually purchased about 10 CDs and was dismay as I played those titles. Most of the so called assorted CDs were of inferior quality audio..

I'm not sure from where you picked up the CD's. With an experience of over 25 years I can easily make out which one are genuine and which are fake.
As mentioned earlier in almost most of the stores that sell audio cd's, video cd's we will get some collection which will be on some sale.
However my suggestion would be to go to Gujarat Galli if you are planning to get it for lesser price. I have been purchasing from there for more than a decade now.
Ok Duly noted.. I know f Gujarathi Galli but for some urgent reasons had to get those CDs..think I bought em from the Odyssey store near Jubilee Check post. Of course was able to return a few which I had the next day

Aye-aye theironhorse... Am all up for it..and as Nikhil has so graciously offered a spot (I sure hope the offer still stands ) think the time to capitalize on it has arrived. Also any chance we can get any of the Audio stores to support us with some of their own HardWare like Avenuesounds did in mumbai ? That could help em with a little bit of publicity too

I was supposed to join last year's meet but unfortunately couldnt make it on that day. This time dont want to miss.
I am currently listening to demos in many showrooms and getting different ideas. This is to setup HT for my new flat which am going to occupy in Nov. Only equipment I have now is 2 TB HDD, Seagate Theater+ connected to 21" CRT. Right now put up in Chandanagar (back side Myhome Jewel).
So, I need all the stuff.
No dedicated room - drawing / living together 30' x 11.5'. So, planning to setup up TV (projector - donno if it will be good), next to the entrance door.
trying to find whatz better -
1. TV and/or projector?
2. Tower speakers or satellites for this large room?
3. AVR - Network or non-Network? Pioneer or Denon/Marantz
4. Heard demos - Focal, KEF, Klipsch, Jamo, Boston Acoustics, Yamaha etc.
