I'm pretty sure that a PC does everything that boxes like this do, but, even in a media-pc case, it can never look as good. A matter of choosing priorities.

Searched the forum for a thread that tracks AV Magazines that are in public domain by the publisher could not spot one, so here's a thread that can track AV Magazines, News & Reports.

There's a small free weekly mag from Germany coincidentally named HiFi Vision! It has news and reviews with some interactive content but is only Apple compatible. I had written to them for Win8 version and was told they are working on it and it might be available by the year end. If you want to have it in pdf format you need to write to them.
