Listening impressions to bhagwan's set up - part II [July, 2014]

Bhagwan, great to hear it.
Congrats ! any special cables from BEST to your house ?
BTW how is the Velodyne sub integeration ? also any points on to how are you crossing this over from the mains?

No Arj;
Nothing Special.
Just made sure that the guage was good;
This is for the Cable / Power Supply I used.
On the SPL 800i front.
I have a F3 of 45 Hertz on my TAD Speaker @ -3dB
So, I cut the sub off @ 60 hertz.
The Phase is normal.
The SPL is # between 4 & 5 %
The Sub is placed on Sound Foundations 'base' [3 pieces] & is about 2 inches off the ground.
Physical distance from listener to sub centre & speaker centre is 'exact'
I LOVE this SUB - Excellent product - the cheapest & one of the most effective components I have ever purchased in my audio set up - ever !

It's good to see that someone else has the AM-833S mono blocks. I have these amps plus the AM-RT1 pre amp. Nicest sound I've heard anywhere at any price.

Hello again.

The speakers are made by Osborn Loudspeakers here in Melbourne (see them on the net). The Model is the Grand Monument Reference and they use all Focal drivers much the same as those used in the Focal Utopia series. They are lead lined and weigh in at 170kgs each.

David.

The Same Manufacturer represents AM Hiend in Australia.

I have tried a new site for pics - hope it works.
Can any person recommend a site where I can load 20 + pics at 1 time & all show up on the forum ? Will make matters really easy & fast.
Much appreciate the contribution.

Hello !
This is an Amplifier Stand that was made for the AM High End Power Amplifier 833S Took 90 days to complete. Order to Delivery.
The Base Frame is Solid Aluminum.
Cones / Spikes / Cups / Felt etc. de-couple the wooden flooring from the main stand.
Above the Aluminum Frame are 3 Roller Blocks. These isolate the AL Frame from the Wooden Plinth.
The Wooden Plinth is made of 4 layers. Wood / MDF / Polyurethane / Aluminum.
This has been clad with Real Wood Veneer & Polished - High Gloss.
Above the Wooden Plinth is the 'Cera Base' - 4 per side.
The Power Amps are then placed on those 4 cera - base.
This is my effort to try and isolate the 833S Power Amplifier - Hope it works well.
Will know the results - soon.
System will be started in a few days & there after the same will be tuned & hopefully, I should be in a position to get a sound that is liked by me.
I have several 6922 Tubes that I need to 'roll' ! That will be a full set of trials & errors set up for another day.
Thanks for being a part of my build share.

Amazing finish on those stands! They just look great!
Remarkable for me is the amount of detail you have given to the isolation.

I would have been plenty happy with the 4 cerabases!

Oh my, simply amazing!
You do keep magma busy, I must say :D

Yeah, me too and most anyone, I dare say.

Sir,
Great going. Looks like you are finally settling for a long haul with these amps.
Keen to know your take on the Meitner and how it compares to the DAD. Was it an upgrade?
Regards

Sir,
Thanks;
The DAD AX 24 is a Super DAC.
It is still considered by many as an Industry Standard.
I am personally very satisfied with its performance.
Initially when I got the MA-1 [Meitner] the DAD was 'better' to my ears.
However, with a software upgrade the MA-1 has proved to be a superior DAC.
Therefore the DAD AX-24 has been 'displaced' & the MA-1 is the defacto DAC for me - currently.
The DAD is for sale.

I Just set up the system;
Changed 1 pair of tubes in my Power Amp.
Stock Electro Harmonix to Valvo - Germany.
What a sea of change - I do not know where to start.
Mr. Jilla - KJ was present to 'fine tune' & was a big help. Thanks Jilla - Truly appreciate.
E88CC / 6922 VALVO / PHILIPS tubes - POST - 6922 / E 88 CC This is the tube I have installed...
I personally feel that the audio set up is playing very good & I am very happy / satisfied.
All are Welcome Home !!
It shall be a pleasure to host any / all.
Thanks for being a part of my joy.

p.s. Kudos to Mr. Jorn - Tidal Audio / Mr. Fang - AM High End.
Excellent products - Playing up to if not higher than my expectations.
Mr. Ed - Meitner too - Excellent DAC
