Hi all,

One of my several speaker pairs.
These famous drivers came under the designation AD5200M and later as AD1255/M7. I had a nice pair a few years ago , but in a fit of foolishness, I sold that one. Off course, I started regretting that after a few days later. After a few years , I was lucky to find another pair . The drivers are in a very nice condition, the plywood cabs were not in a good condition, so I had them beefed up with complete hardwood covering. This improved the already excellent sq and also the visual appearance.

I have now paired them with my new SE tube amps, and the combination is superb.

Lovely looking combo there :)

I have a similar pair. Great sounding full rangers. Don't get replacement cones if they get damaged. Without the original cones, these drivers are not going be desirable.

Does it have a whizzer cone?

Cheers
Thanks Anil ,

Yes , the cones are in good condition and the whizzers are there. The dust caps are very transparent and if a torch is shined through, one can see the copper topping on the pole piece that enables the drivers to present a flat impedance curve to the amp. Off course , this no new info to you ,considering your knowledge of the vintage equipment . The problem nowadays with reconning vintage drivers is that while one may find the cones , finding the correct high compliance spiders is impossible in India. I also covered the reflex port with some vintage mesh salvaged from other old cabs to prevent anything crawling inside.

Regards,

Anwesh
