Did you hear anything about the G20? Specs seem almost the same as the V20, but it's cheaper. Only difference appears to be "Infinite Black with 5M:1 contrast" on the G20 & "Infinite Black Pro with >5M:1 contrast" on the V20.

I'm hunting 42" plasma now that my infected LCD's going back to sender.

No G20 series this year in asia. V20 is only Infinite Black the IB Pro is for VT20. my cousin has seen V20 in melbourne and he claims it was the best HDTV in the entire store.

Hi, does anybody know how the existing Panasonic Viera 50V10 Plasma compares with the new Viera 50U20 (2010 models)?

I was planning to buy the 50V10, but now the dealer says there is no stock available and instead I could go for the 50U20. I haven't found much reviews on the net.

One thing I observed in the specs is that the 'Moving Picture Resolution' on the 50U20 is 900 lines whereas in the 50V10 it is 1080 lines. From what limited knowledge I have, I think 1080 lines are a must for any Full HD TV. They advertise the 50U20 as a Full HD model. Is this true? Somebody please clarify:confused:

Even the Viera 50S10 has 1080 lines

Are any panny shops in delhi offering thse currebtly?
Also any idea about the pricing as well.
Cool update btw!
Cheers!

1. Does anyone here knows wats the difference between X series and A series..
Even i saw the new models list with my distributor of Pana.
2. Are these 20 series better than the 10 series???

which wd be better X10 or A20

If I am not mistaken, the S10 series has the same 900+ lines of 'moving picture resolution'. If budget is an issue, then I would not worry too much about the mising resolution lines. 50" size is not large enough to make out much difference from a normal distance anyhow.

So you say, going for the 50U20 does not make any difference? Budget is not that a constraint. I was ready to pay 1.2L for the 50V10 and the price of the 50U20 is around the same range. But what I find annoying is that even though the price is almost same, features wise, the V10 has got more of them.

The MRP of the 50V10 when available was 1.5L, but was avaialble in retail for around 1.2-1.5L. I am sure in the case of the 50U20, 1.2L is the MRP and you should be able it get for around 95K. In fact 'akasmarty2003' posted earlier that he has been quoted a price of Rs. 95k for the 50U20.

last years 50V10 is been replaced by V20 the 50 inch model will be launched in june the price approx. 1.3L + but it doesnt have the THX mode like last year but as per the early users it definitely outshines V10 in terms of black level, brightness & overall PQ. if you can wait for couple of months and can stretch your budget a bit i would suggest you to consider VT20 (first in my wish list) as the experts say it is the best HDTV ever so far second only to 9G Kuro.

Inquired Abhirami AV in Chennai just now and they quoted 66k for 42" V20.

Going around the net I find that the V20 costs GBP1200 in the UK ie. Rs.81000 (dealer price) and it costs AUD1999 in Australia ie. Rs.78000 (MRP). V20 is not listed on Amazon, so couldn't check US price.

V20 is supposed to be based on the newer G13 panel and is apparently better than both G10 and V10. Plus, Panasonic claims to have 'fixed' the rising black level problem in the 2010 plasmas.

How come the same TV is much cheaper in India ? Is there a catch ?

I think you are mixing the prices of 50" V20 and 42" V20.

If its true then will be a very good deal.
Amazing thing s why isn't anyone stocking the new models in NCR.
Panasonic people in noida didn't even knw the new range has been launched.
