Restore Power to Yamaha HTR-3064 (AV receiver). Bypass Repair Technician

Hi friends, the manual states that the power protection circuitry triggered three times consecutively and that I have to contact a registered Yamaha repair technician to get it fixed. I wish to bypass the repair technician step and fix this myself. Has anyone else performed a similar fix?

I did this with my Yamaha AVR. The most important thing is to find the service manual for your avr and search for entering the diagnostic mode. You can enter the diagnostic mode by pressing few keys on the front panel. What keys to press will be in the service manual. In the diagnostic mode the AVR will print something on the display like DC-PRT-xxxx, or PS-PRT-xxxx. In the service manual it will give a description of the error code. Once you have the error code it will give you an idea of what has gone wrong. But the first step is to perform the diagnostic.
