upgraditis --planning to upgrade to 1080p from optoma hd65

so guys here are some more pics which i took today morning..this time i am directly providing the links rather than uploading here as my attachement quota is almost full
the difference between the earlier pics and these are 480p and 1080p with these constraints..
1) the 480p ones had better black levels coz the 2m cable i used today was a discarded one from my LCD testing which has really poor blacks..but didnt have any other cable as the rest of them are connected with a wall mounted LCD, so hard to unplug.
2) the 1080p is from a HTPC, not from a BD player, the 480p ones earlier were from philips DVD player
3) 2-4 pics are from a movie 17Again which is a 1080p BDrip downloaded of internet
4) some of the pics are from canon cameras (4:3 are from A420) , (16:9 is from SX1)
5) Last of the pics is from the 480p DVD player again 1st one in default 2.35:1 and the next one is anamorphic mode 1 of the HC3800 - check the stretched version of 16:9 (this image may seem a little dull than the previous, is because i increased the shutter speed coz the menu on the mits was a tad bright)

subash, i created an account on blue-ray, but while uploading i saw the following so had to stick to tinypic

Pictures Remaining 60
Maximum File Size per Picture 97.7 KB
Maximum Picture Dimensions 600 by 600 Pixels

Forgot to share last time.. the pics are taken from SX1 in manual mode with ISO 1600/F2.8/Shutter Speed close to 1/8 or 1/10

Guys, i'm getting my 30Ft HDMI cable tomorrow... It is from Monoprice.com. I'm getting 2 of them, 24 AWG, 1080p capable..

as per CNET, they are using these cables in CNET testing labs.. and for HDMI, brand name / costs really doesn't matter (this is as per CNET. I have no experience to say this..)..

Including UPS expedited shipping, they are much cheaper compared to DAC 10M HDMI cable. I guess, I'm getting two cables and 10 pairs of banana plugs for almost the same cost as 10M DAC HDMI cable.

Will post once again after testing..

Earlier, monoprice will ship only to USA, good to hear they have started shipping to India.... We can rely these.. Jayad08 you can also follow the route...

thats good to hear..
with so many members using monoprice for so long i wonder if we can have a group discount offer similar to what we have with 20north..
but i then suppose 20north also gives it ads on this site..

unfortunately i dont have any experience with HDMI cables so far to compare and comment.. however, with digital signals, as long as the cable is certified it shld be alright, as per some readings..

My cable has reached home just now... Will test it this Friday evening by connecting my oppo BDP83 to Pana 4000:D.( I got both of these in the last one week.. but, my room is not yet ready:sad: for any real reviews.. will take at least 1 more month, thanks to all the slow work:mad:. so, will be using one of my plain walls to project to test...)

congrats on the purchase govind pana 4000 is a very good model .. did u get it exacy for 2k or got some discounts.... now its ur turn to post some pics from pana 4000.. we are waiting..
and dont worry about the wall part.. except for hot spot problem.. a projector screen with very good gain factor will only show you some actual differences..others will be marginally better if ur room is light controlled..

news at my end is that i talked to the dealer and he says that i hv to courier the cable to DAC,mumbai where they will check it for problems..

once the pj came, my home pc went dead:mad: so, posting the pic will take time.. anyway, i will take pictures and keep them ready for teh PC to come back...

first feedback on the PJ - i dont like the looks and the size:sad: it is much bigger than i imagined (I had seen the dimentions in the spec, but.... ). But, who cares:lol:i just tested it once to make sure nothing has broken on the way by projecting a DVD and I liked the picture quality:yahoo:

Planning to watch a full movie tonight:yahoo:

Guys I was using a monoprice 20ft HDMI cable. The PQ was fine with it but the connectors are a different story. Any dusting behind the proj. or even at the receiver end and the connector came loose, even with a slight touch. So finally I got fed up and bought a QED which is working great. Just my experience with monoprice - a great value - but have to be careful with the connectors.
Cheers
Sid

gow much did u get the QED for? Is it 10m..
I was given a quote of 10k for QED .. but anyways i will first try to get the DAC fixed..

I bought the 10m QED on a business visit to KL a few months ago. I believe the price was approx. US$200 so right around the INR 9k range.
Cheers
Sid
