i think that second link is working....

Hey doc why you have the door in the middle??? any specific reason. Door in a corner will give you more options for a placement.

A silly question: why do u have two RCC pillars coming up there? no RCC pillar in the corner of the wall. Is some window planned there??

hey prekri have you managed to do any auditions? did you visit decibel? raghu should be able to kit you out with pretty much everything you need. You could also check out Cressida AV Zone in alwarpet for cambridge audio, yamaha and mordaunt short options.

Oh you started the construction..

Why are you using bricks for a pillar construction? Also i couldnt find any pillars to evenly distribute the wt. to the floor. Hope you might have considered this before..

I dont know if it is possible now or not. Since you are using bricks, it would be better if you construct using rat-trap technique with an air cushion inside, it will act as a sound trap / sound isolator. Also it will keep the room temperature under control, thereby the work load on your ac will be less.

Hey Doc,

If thats window and its size is too big for your HT room. I assume you intend to use this room for HT purposes only. If you make windows big later on you will have to plan for damping the sound.

IMHO your room construction style is not the best one for a HT room. Consider if u still can.

friends am really confused bcoz actually this is room is designed by the engineer and he worked already for home theatres before. So can you guys tell me wat shud i do and do i really need acoustics/sound proof for denon 1910 and 7.1 Q acoustics?and wat about flooring...shouls i go fro wooden or normal tiles with thick mat?point is the sound shouldnt come out.plsssss help.

This construction technique requires trained masonaries and I am not sure about their accessibility in your area. This is one of the main highlight of the buildings made by the famous architect Laurie Baker.

No need to be confused. Since your architect is having enough experience, he might have considered all the aspects. You defenitely need acoustics to get the best out of a dedicated room and it is not system specific.

Since its a dedicated room, dont go for any flooring, ask them to give you a smooth cement finished floor and use wall-to-wall thick carpet with some padding at the bottom. Also you can ask them to give enough provisions \ openable channels (may be near the walls) for passing wires through the floor.

hi thanks for the reply man sajith, its really helpful.do u have any special ideas for interior?thanks

Hey Pekri since you have already started construction (may be roof level by now) its better you concentrate on the interiors and the roof. Keep posting pics of the construction to seek advice. :)

cmsajith,
regarding the rat trap wall for building a HT,will it not produce resonance or vibrate to low frequencies.
