No I was looking more towards fitting two mkv rips in one dvd if possible. Hence if somebody has a similar requirement then they can reencode the file intwo diff bit rates and compare both. I plan to do the same. Will get back on the results but again that is a very personal thing so please dont take my word for it :rolleyes: !

Oh OK. It makes sense then. Though I prefer min 4GB movies, they are more clear and does more justice when watching on HD TV.

I think you should see this rip first . I dont know how he has managed such a reduced file size . In fact let me try and upload a small 20-30 seconds clip for you to analyze it for yourself :) !

But how the hell do we clip mkvs ?? :(

Would like to know if anybody has any update on DVD menu support for WD TV. I had read somewhere that this feature is seriously considered by WD.

That price is without the VAT and the taxes. Add that up and it'll come up close to 7.5K. Get it locally from a retailer - it's easier that way.

I recently got it for 7K from a shop in Mumbai. One other forum member got it for 6.4K from another shop after a few days !!!

It's available in Binary World (shop located in Indira Nagar BDA complex). They have a website also. Binary World | Where The Powerful Get Plugged In.
There are 2 versions listed out here (guess NTSC & PAL). When I checked last time, the N version was listed at a cheaper price of 6.8K.

Any other users excepting Reju ji here ? Some people have claimed that updating to WDLXTV has bricked their WD TV . Few more successes would give me the courage to do it myself :) !

The new iOmega supports 1080p with HDMI,I m not sure if it is the same or with component connection.
Both comes with 500gb HDD.

  • I am using the most recent firmware from WD. The upgrade was smooth and the device works like a charm.

Does anybody feel, If price was NOT a factor then a PS3 would be an apt replacement for a WD Tv?

I am still contemplating b/w WD Tv and PS3? No success as yet.
