Listening impressions to bhagwan's set up - part II [July, 2014]

hi

yep
stands were commisioned by Bhagwan during the amphion meet at KJ's home
i had brought my flagship "Prime S " stands to the meet

Bhagwan wanted something worthy of the tidals
and requested me to better these

Knowing bhagwan
im pretty sure hes been around the world and seen the best of stands
and its not difficult for him to import a pair if he can import the 6 box amps
It seems nothing had really caught his fancy yet

the stands took time
a month i think
But we did get it right in the end

bhagwan is frm the school of thought where the stands need to be HEAVY and dead
and infact they are NOT meant to be a delivery system for vibrations ( which is really what the second school of thought believes )

So this stand was made with a 1.25 inch thk solid lazer cut base
Cast steel

4 columns of varying sizes were designed and placed so there is no resonances between them
Each extrusion was illed with 2 differnt fillers in varying proportions

the ends were capped with silicon gel

the top plate IS in fact a true CLD that joshua mentioned

This is one of the rare times that every part was engineered for a purpose
Even the spikes used were from my Racks - the replicas from the Ascendos

In the end bhagwan was satisfied

here are some pics

I was interested in the black ones (Source). I need 10 pieces, what was the cost for these?

two (actually three fillers have been used )

2 are proprietory

one is a finely crushed white version of this
<<UK>> AVLAND brings information for the ATACAMA Atabites Speaker Stand Filler

the other is red silica

the shiny stuff you see on top is
swarosky crystals...!!!!! - just to make bhagwan pay more!!!!
what say....

@prepress
the black ones are rollerblocks
they infact took some time to get right
the aluminium alloy and the curvature took time to get right
and for the assembly to sound nice it took a look of trial and error - since i have no testing facilities where i can make a definite decision

burge cooper, bhagwan and a couple guys use them now

mail me on
ali at soundfoundations.in for the prices

Out of the World setup...... This is a crazy crazy world and I am discussing YHTs, Onkies and Pannys.......[emoji5][emoji5][emoji5]
If you do swing by this side of the woods - do give me a shout - we can meet up - listen to some music.
I just connected the DAC in last night @ 2000 hours & it has been playing since.
I need to complete 200 hours on it.
The Power Cord & IC's are the same Bertram Proxima & Ultima - but the USB Cable too is 'brand- new' the Transparent Premium.
Potential is coming through. I have some hopes on the machine.
Will post pics soon.

p.s. Enjoying music from 0730 & office has taken a 'back seat' [shhhh...]

I am a passive user in this site. However your magnum opus setup is something to behold.
Not been to Mumbai for more than a decade, would be worth a visit to just come and listen to these beauties.
I had sometime back also read your post of car ICE upgrade with morel drivers. That is something we both share, as I too run the 80prs with 3-way morel drivers.

Congrats once again.

Sir,
I do not wish to de-rail this thread with Car ICE - but just 1 pic for you :-

If you do visit this side of the woods - most welcome;
Do come home.
You shall be welcome.

Very nice!!:clapping:

What next? A Turntable?:eek:hyeah:

Sir,
Thanks for the compliment;
I like TT.
However, there are a few issues..
a]
Space.
I like in a 1 BHK flat. Space is a huge issue.
No Place for TT + Phono + TT's [Records] - where do I store them.
b]
Cost
Good Quality Analogue Set up will set you back 20/-K at least [I mean USD's]
TT + Tone Arm + Cartridge + Phono Cable + Phono Stage etc. etc.
c]
Set up is an issue - I have not exposure to it - so I do not want to be at the mercy of the TT & its Friends to listen to music.

My Computer is just about as much as I can take.

;)

Sir,

Yes!! The space problem i agree with and i am sure 20/k (USD) is not a big deal for you.

A TT setup, i feel is worth the efforts and pain you have to take to set it up.

But i know it is not simple. A Turntable needs its malik's affection\fondness and efforts. When this happens one can reach audio nirvana.

This is my humble opinion. Pls don't take it wrong.

regds,
shafic

Hello Bhagwan

Have you ever tried using a linear power supply with your music pc? Something similar to this:

HDPLEX Fanless Linear Power Supply for PC Audio and CE device

I'm planning to order this for my music pc since it appears according to lots of reports on computer audiophile that the biggest change in audio quality is from moving to a linear psu from a usual switching computer power supply. Was just curious about your opinion.

Regards!

Sir,
I personally have not used this.
However, I believe in it.
It is the right thing to do...
If I knew how to connect this P/S to my current PC's - I would surely go in for it.
Besides, even their case I like a lot, just not sure if my M/B & Sound Card will fit in it - else it is all very 'legit' on the price front.
If you know how to install & make it work, some help would be much appreciated.
I am 100 % game to get this done.:licklips:
