Mid to high end speaker options

Re: Rockport technologies

Rockport Merak looks beautiful. I'm sure they sound stunning also. @ $12,200/ Rs 7,32,000 sure's lot of money...

Re: Rockport technologies

Busy with a project, hence have not yet traveled to Bangalore. Will plan to do so soon however. As I stated earlier I am in no hurry as I am enjoying my Harbeths tremendously now especially with the addition of Skylla and m2tech clock & psu. I have also been looking into the possibility of a Harbeth 40.1 as well. Perhaps soon I will have a chance to audition this as well, albeit at the dealers place.
Cheers,
Sid

Re: Rockport technologies

I have added another speaker to the mix to be auditioned. The ATC SCM50 tower - passive. Dealer has them in stock so trying to work out a showroom audition first to get a bearing. I owned the scm19 for some time and really liked them, have heard the scm 40, so I have a general idea of the ATC house sound.
Cheers,
Sid

Re: Rockport technologies

Heard the Rockport Avior today. Good speakers, open and clean sound. It was being powered by Karan Acoustics electronics.

Re: Rockport technologies

Someone I know is trying to upgrade from Y G Acoustics Anat III Professional Signature. I wish I could get these, alas my room is way too small for a speaker that size. A great chance to own the claimed "world's best speaker", have to watch it slip by

ATC is a good addition Sid, please try to listen to their active model too. It is meant to be like that.

If you are considering the ATC - then the PMC too could be considered.
This pair is to be in stock with the D & D - I suppose..

MB2 SE | PMC Loudspeakers

If you had a big room - this may be 'ideal'

MB2 XBDi | PMC Loudspeakers

Do consider them..:ohyeah:

YG ANAT III Pro Ref Sig Series TOP Ref Full Range Speakers | Full range | Madison, Wisconsin 53719 | AudiogoN - The High-end Audio Community
These are priced at $37k, but they appear to be a verII upgraded to verIII.
From my past experience Agon prices are amongst the lowest in the world so $37k would be a good indicative price, but I wont be surprised if they are significantly higher for a pair located in India.

Re: Rockport technologies

Hi Sid,

Would appreciate if you keep posting in this thread post demoing the various speakers as & when they arrive at your place. Should be a good read am sure.

:)

Re: Rockport technologies

In this case the 'upgrade' means Wilson Alexandria (that's what he is lusting for). :o

I know for sure he wants CASH. Kidding :D

I'll pm you the details.

This is all IMHO, of course, but that sounds mildly like a downgrade, unless he REALLY likes treble.:)

I'll reserve my comments on that :D When someone spends, they have the right to like or dislike what they like :ohyeah:
