require suggestion for Subwoofer

Nope.. It was a blind buy..I too bough it from hifimart without audition..

We can buy blindly only if we get it free. how can somebody put his hard earned money on something which he don't know anything about it.

I can buy only through audition or only through technical review.

Let me put it simply.. I had budget of 50K and wanted to get dual subs and as many articles had suggested two subs does better than one.. So i had to skip the established brands as they were expensive and wanted to escape "Post auditioning when will you buy".. I was convinced with Taga Harmony Platinum Sw 10v.2 subs, then selling for 24.5K each.. They were able to go as low as 22Hz in my room.. That too for 24.5K.. An SVS (or) a more established sub for sure, would definetly do lower than this, but may be not much and the price difference is almost double..

So more happier with blind buys..

I can buy only through audition or only through technical review.

This is perfectly fine.. It is just one's preference / approach..

After going through tons of research, i have selected two subs.

1- Yamaha NS SW - 100: new only 15k and less powerful : approx 15k
2- Yamaha YST-SW315: powefull but 10 year old model.: approx 25k

Anybody help me to choose one of this. in future i can go 2 of Yamaha NS SW - 100

In between these , i must go to sw315, it has bass, phase controls and high level input connections .

NS SW - 100 have only volume control..

I am not sure about credibility of it's warranty . check their linkdin page at https://www.linkedin.com/company/bic-america/

Bic America website doesn't seems to be professional.

it says 2-10 employee. how is it possible if company has been running since 1970 and it has only 1-10 employee vs Yamaha which has more than 3000 employee. I am sure Yamaha has it's own R&D center for product improvement.

We know that Yamaha is one of the highly respected company among Audiophiles but it doesn't mean other companies producing are not of high quality and are nonprofessionals.
Your Long research missed all this info below

Bic has the long history of making high quality speakers and are great Value for money
Bic America is among the earliest pioneers in the audio industry, distributing products including Garrard turntables, Luxman amplifiers and Wharfedale loudspeakers during the 1960's.
In 1973, BIC introduced its own brand of loudspeakers and the industry's first belt drive turntables. By the mid 1970's, BIC Venturi loudspeakers were among the top 5 best-selling brands.
The company has emerged as the clear choice for those seeking very high performance audio at affordable prices. BIC products were top-rated 4 times in 1999 alone in comparison with all of the top ten best selling loudspeaker brands!

And Linkedin isn't the official website to provide number of employees. I work in company of more than a lakh employees and i see only few thousands in Linkedin. You found many people using it since more than 10 years. and is see only 94 reviews in Amazon. There are thousands of people using BIC speakers more than 15 years and are happy. Amazon.com itself has 1300 reviews and rated F12 to 4.4/5

Below links are not to say the BIC is the only the best but have been listed Among the Best Subwoofers and speakers through decades.
These are few among 100s of other reviews. BIC Subwoofers are very wel known in Americas and other countries and very less and recently known to Indians customers.

Finally, If warranty would have been an issue the company wouldn't have lasted more than 10 years also and even if lasts more than that it wont be choice of majority of buyers and would disappear from Top list and result in 90% bad reviews.

if you go to toptenreview website which is authority website for expert review, you will find Yamaha is ahead of bic america in terms of sound quality
http://www.toptenreviews.com/electronics/home-entertainment/best-home-subwoofers/

Bic america has some port noise which is not there in yamaha or Emotiva subwoofer. pl200 has more power but overall yamaha is ahead of bic. yamaha is also go down to 20 hz even with 10 inch subwoofer. subwoofer design is art not like DYI which anybody can do it. For me selecting subwoofer is hardest part of overall home theater equipment selection.

unfortunately Yamaha SW300 is not available in India:(. top of that it is not top model from yamaha in subwoofer like pl200 in bic.

Yamaha fascino is available. I have one in blue. Good average.

It’s very evident you are not interested in taking any help or suggestions from forum members who are doing their best to guide you. Please buy a Yamaha sub and update us when you do. Ur mind is already made up.

I think all the FMs are trying to give the best suggestions based on their experience and the thread title: require suggestions for subwoofer.
These are some of the brands you can consider which will be superior to Yamaha models.
SVS, Velodyne, Polk, Wharfedale, BIC America, Emotiva etc.

In every brand you can find entry models and quite expensive ones too. It depends on the budget.
But I assume you have already made your mind on Yamaha based on reviews.

@king2163 - Please understand the primary business of Yamaha, Pioneer, Denon, Onkyo, Marantz is into making multi channel and integrated, power amplifier and receiver equipments and not into designing speakers as there are other brands. Unless you audition few subs you would just round up on the sub based on your personal opinion and other online reviews. I am surprise to know you aren't auditioning type guy and making purchases based on internet reviews! If your decision for purchase involves budget as one of the key elements then Yamaha is a good choice "for you". However if budget isn't a constraint then there are far better subwoofers out there to consider.

Note - There is barely noticeable difference our ears could make out between the 2 low frequencies (example - sub 1 27Hz and sub 2 - 20Hz) because low frequencies are not as clear and loud as mid, high frequencies.

Can you tell us more about your home theater set up?

While we all respect that OP is new and every effort is being made to take the right decision and choice, somehow, gathering confidence and trust is not seen as a minimum output which for obvious reasons will deter anyone trying to help and help......most of us are from the working class...due to our passion...ensure we make some time to come and provide comments, suggestions and even opine on blind purchases.....

It is good to read a lot...not too much which can cloud your thoughts and skew decision making......I too read a lot and explore before making purchases....but I avoid going overboard......

I am also very satisfy from my purchase

Hi

It is a nice setup and yes you have done a fair investment!

Now with respect to having a good sub....see the specs of the Dali Z3 as in how low (starting freq...hz) is....accordingly get a sub which can definitely go and perform more lower than that to enjoy the thump and clean bass effects from movies and music......as a bare minimum....ensure it is as close as possible to 20hz......

Many have given their views and opinion about subs.....you can view some YouTube HD videos to get some fair idea around performance....videos uploaded is like dolby digital movies available for download over google....so the quality wont be that bad......

All the best....

top of that I also bought

13- WD My Passport 1TB Portable External Hard Drive
14- sony blu ray player bdp s1500 (bough from local shop)

Al my HT gear I bought within 3 month.

Jamsticks has been mentioned a few times recently. Search for it and you will find opinions.

Please try to contact Mr. Santosh of Prosonics (Bangalore) at 93411 12580.

He can arrange PL200 for you. PL200 ii is lined up, so not sure the dealers would have stocks still.
