Technics Turntable Owners Club

HI, everyone.
Anybody have upgraded the stock RCA cable in the SL1200? I have seen this RCA socket upgrade on eBay. Should I upgrade to this? or upgrade to good quality RCA cable?

I have replaced my stock cables with ART Pop Cables made of Mogami Cable from Kabusa.com, due to a damaged RCA plug in one channel. The result is very satisfactory.
Can you send the link to the product shown in the posted photo doesnt appear on ebay.
Thank you.

Thank you for your message. The stock RCA and ground wire are very flimsy. I have also found an ICE socket upgrade, but it is not very concerning.

Hi All,

My name is Ajith Raman and I live in Trivandrum in Kerala now.

I am quite new to this forum.

Well,I own a Technics SL-D3 machine for the past 7 years and of late the auto mechanism is malfunctioning.

Looks like the plastic wheel that controls the mechanism has been worn out due to ageing ..Can anybody help me fix this issue??

Somebody I can talk to for a spare part etc??

I have already contacted Mr Kuruvilla Jacob in Kottayam.

Look forward to have your suggestions.

Many thanks.

Best,

-Ajith.
Your best bet is to look into the Technics spare parts pages or get one 3D printed.

I own a technics turntable Technics SL-1200GR Silver which was purchased from USA. The input power supply is 110v and I use a step down which works well
I am contemplating changing the transformer to make it compatible with 220v.

Does any one in the forum has experience doing it.

Hi Reuben’s. GM. I appreciate your fondness for these legendary tts. It was on my wish list for a long time but many factors prevented the acquisition! Sigh. However in spite of hearing loss and ‘no more acquisitions’ rule by the LOH, this is still on my wish list. What I would like to know is whether these would be suitable for moving iron carts, Ortofon OM series( some models come fitted with the newer Ortofon Red and above), Nagaoaka MMs and Excel MM cartridges. Also how is the surface noise , particularly on old Bollywood LPs which have been played on my ceramic tts. Would like your personal experience, as this would be a more accurate assessment. Thanks

A good friend who was instrumental in me getting my Mk2, and who has a number of 1200s in his collection (more than half a dozen at last count), is a big fan of Nagaokas on his. The JN P110 and 200 iirc.
