As I can see, you have Energy RC-Micro 5.0, what price you got it and how it is in performance?

I am planning to go for either
Tannoy SXS5.1
JBL CINEMA 300
Canton Movie 125 MX
Boston Soundware XS
Tannoy HTS101 or
Energy Take Classic 5.1

any suggesstion?

I got my RC-Micro from US last December for around INR 9k. They are very good only for movies and hence I have got a pair of Yamaha NS-F140 floor standers and they are superb value for performance both for music and movies. Hence shifted the energy as 6th and 7th channel.

My friend is visiting UK. Initially I thought of asking him to carry Yamaha RX-V671 (GBP~300) and a good 5.1 speaker package (GBP~200). Then I learnt that for more than Rs. 25000 of items imported to India would fetch custom duty of ~ 37.5%.

So now plan changed to buy AVR from India and speakers from UK.

I got a very good quotes of AVR in Navi Mumbai.

Yamaha RX-V371 : ~ Rs. 13.5K
Yamaha RX-V571 : ~ Rs. 22.2K
Yamaha RX-V671 : ~ Rs. 37K
Yamaha RX-V863 : ~ Rs. 35K
Denon 1312 : ~ Rs. 16K
Denon 1912 : ~ Rs. 31.5K

I am more inclined towards yamaha as Denon 1912 doesn't have video upscaling feature.

Within yamaha is it worth spending extra 16K for 671 compared to 571? What is the difference between 571 and 671?

I am not going to use Network feature and I not an Apple fan so will not use Air-play feature as well. I heard that 671 has discrete amp so the sound quality will be much more than 571? Is it true?

Please guys help me in deciding.....

I don't think he's talking about the US models at all. Honestly 571 for 22 is a bit of a bummer actually. The salesman may have goofed up while giving quotes.

I bought my 571 in January for around 31k in Bangalore with B/W. So a diff of 9k is too much to swallow for me..

Not recommended. You will also need a step down transformer adding to the cost. Try amazon.de instead or buy from here with bill and warranty. You would be able to get it for around 26-27K, here.

The place is in Seawood called Avenue Sounds. 02227715878, they have another store in town but the price in that town store is higher than Seawood store (that's what Mr. Anod, Store manager of Navi Mumbai told).

You please once again confirm the prices, B&W, etc and please update me as well as I am also planning to buy HT shortly.

Yes, denon 1312 is available for 23k @ profx and 1612 @ 27k. also confirmed with profx that new models of denon will be available from next month and this time 1312 is replaced by 1513, 1612 by 1713 & 1912 by 2113. i'll recommend you to wait for 15 days, let the new models come, audition it, if you like go with it or if you don't, go with minimum 1612, you'll not regret in future.
