My friend is visiting UK. Initially I thought of asking him to carry Yamaha RX-V671 (GBP~300) and a good 5.1 speaker package (GBP~200). Then I learnt that for more than Rs. 25000 of items imported to India would fetch custom duty of ~ 37.5%.

So now plan changed to buy AVR from India and speakers from UK.

I got a very good quotes of AVR in Navi Mumbai.

Yamaha RX-V371 : ~ Rs. 13.5K
Yamaha RX-V571 : ~ Rs. 22.2K
Yamaha RX-V671 : ~ Rs. 37K
Yamaha RX-V863 : ~ Rs. 35K
Denon 1312 : ~ Rs. 16K
Denon 1912 : ~ Rs. 31.5K

I am more inclined towards yamaha as Denon 1912 doesn't have video upscaling feature.

Within yamaha is it worth spending extra 16K for 671 compared to 571? What is the difference between 571 and 671?

I am not going to use Network feature and I not an Apple fan so will not use Air-play feature as well. I heard that 671 has discrete amp so the sound quality will be much more than 571? Is it true?

Please guys help me in deciding.....

Marantz SR 5006 seems to have a big range. I read somewhere that there was an initial group buy offer at Hifimart at Rs 40K (that was with waranty). Recently when I checked price out in Mumbai, I was told Rs 60k (again with Bill and warranty). But guess Rs 60K to Rs 42K (Alpha, w/o bill and warranty) is still a meaningful gap. Anyone has a sense of best price for Marantz SR 5006 from distributor with Bill and warranty? Thanks everyone.

I have got a number of Rs 33K wth Bill and Gurantee and just want to make sure that I have a right base and benchamrk to comapre it with. If someone has a price without bill (from Alpha?), that will also help.

33k seems to be the right ref price for Denon 1713. I was quoted similar price by Pro-Fx Mulund recently.
Marantz SR5006 should be available for 48-50k with B&W - check with M Z Audio Distributors (based in Mumbai)

Also, what would be the speakers go with these AVRs? Paradigm Monitor Series 7/9 or Monitor Audio MR series?
