Hi FMs,

This is my first thread here. Another FM introduced me to this forum and eventually to analogue music.

I have a Pioneer PLS 50 DD TT. connected to a Marantz PM52 integrated stereo Amp and Polk Audio Bookshelf M30.

The cartridge currently mounted is AT90D.I bought an AT95E for 1756/- through www.Amazon.de. Requesting your guidance in replacing the cartridge with the new one. however the tricky situation is :

1. the Headshell seems to have been pasted onto the tonearm (i didn't check this when i bought the TT off OLX )
2. I am not able to source a new headshell on any website nor locally.

What i would like to know is can i directly mount the cartridge onto the headshell by removing the two screws at the top? i have a digital gram scale and also an alignment template.

thanks in advance.

Prashant

Thank you for your reply Greenhorn. Would this imply that i can just change the stylus to an elliptical one and that should help?

Thank you again...

Yes, if you want to upgrade to elliptical, you can just install the stylus from an at92ecd or equivalent standalone stylus (cost is nearly the same)
please do calibrate and realign after installing - alignment is more critical for ellipticals
