Yesterday visited a Distributor ... he offered a final price of Rs. 61000/- for Samsung B650... and available after two days .... is it worth paying ???? one more thing .. how is the picture quality when connected to DTH SD (SunDirect HD or BigTV). Right now I'm using a cable connecton with a lot of distortion. Want to go for SunHD.

Blindly go for Sun HD, The HD channels will rock..I switched yesterday just for IPL.

mode of playing means types like pen drive,HDD,lan port like wise....mainly how u use to play...and btw wats the firmware u have in ur lcd is it samy go ?? ...hmmm so wats the main diff btw the samy go firmware and the 2005 firmware of indian site...and btw u framed a sentence at the last use at your own risk of new age firmwares link .....so hows that ...y it mentioned...i meant u tried and no issues ?? if so then y do u have to write like that ?

yes its sammy go's firmware and I am USING SAME!!!!.

Difference boss is clearly mentioned on the link why dont you read (EVEN PICTURES are given to explain!!!

It gives option for fit width which you required to watch movies with 4:3 ratio on 16:9

Yes i do mention again. Custom firmware is modified by some third party . Samsung has not developed it. So who will give guarantee for it..?? I wont.

I had the comfort feeling for that and I am using at my own risk and found no problems at all.
It you want some extra features use it at your own risk ! anyways if you don't like you can anytime revert to old firmware!!!

and is it possible to put both the 2005 and this new age firmware so that i can degrade or upgrade which i like ....and is the version name of newage 2004.1 newage version 2.7z... thanks ....
im like nervous for updating firmware cause already the tv been replaced with a new one ?? so it has to be done proper...so only...thanks

2005 blindly you CAN OPT AS ITS OFFICIAL.
NO DISADVANTAGES.
(but no options for screen like in sammy go's firmware)

--- sammy go's has options for screen.
no disadvantages.
(In sammy go's after update you will have to change tuner=ASIA_ATV in service menu - that hidden menu explained before)

Tuner has to be changed in service menu. One that i explained before to you by pressing info,power mute....etc etc

This is name version 2 below . Other one was version 1. obviously download 2 as this is latest one.

Firmware update procedure is clearly given on samsung page for 2005 version download in pdf. download and read it 10 times.

3. and first if im update 2005 firmware is it possible for me to degrade to the sammy go firmware !!!(up to u is 2004 and 2005 version firmwares are same only the difference is the 2004 has the picture option and as the 2005 dont has that and the bugs for HD is rectified in both ???????? ) THANKS !!!!


4. do cable works if i change the region in the service menu for the 2004 fw did u try it cause some one in the forum was telling that the cable is not working something i could have missed like that they were asking !!!(do internet @tv works on this firmware ??????)

Fit.............. same as in original firmware (fit the video to full screen by assuming 1:1 pixel aspect ratio)
Original......... same as in original firmware
Full Screen...... stretch the video to full panel screen (1366x768 or 1920x1080)
4:3.............. 4:3 pixel aspect ratio
Non Anamorph..... non anamorph aspect ratio (the average of PAL and NTSC non anamorph ITU-R BT.601 Standard aspect ratio)
16:9............. 16:9 pixel aspect ratio
Anamorph......... anamorph aspect ratio (the average of PAL and NTSC anamorph ITU-R BT.601 Standard aspect ratio)
1.85:1........... 1.85:1 pixel aspect ratio
2.35:1........... 2.35:1 pixel aspect ratio
2.37:1........... 2.37:1 pixel aspect ratio
2.39:1........... 2.39:1 pixel aspect ratio

I TOLD BEFORE....YOU CAN DEGRADE TO ANY FIRMWARE BELOW OR EQUAL To 2005

i downloaded the firmware extracted to the pen drive ..inserted options like media play content library and software update it showed i gave the software update for the sammy go...after it done it went to the same old thing not getting booted...but now tis time i dont know how to face my dad and wat to tel the service persons also...even the service menu not coming...:sad:

can you please explain step by step what files you put and how did u update..?
may be I can help you...

are you sure you are : Service Menu (when in standby press press info, menu, mute then standby)

. What was your old firmware version which you upgraded...?? whts yr model no..?? LA40b650t1r ..??

it was a winrar file i extracted the file it was in the name T-CHL7DEUC !!
i put the file in the pen drive !!!
imd after inserting the pen drive it wil ask for the option
media player
content library
software upgrade
i gave the 3rd option it showed the message like 2002 or 2002.2 not sure of the proper no then it says this is available do u want to upgrade to 2004 i entered !!!
then after the update took max 3 min after that it turned off it dint get on at all !!!
its automatically getting restarted with the melody sound !!!
even i tried for the service menu it dint enter the same automatically turning off and on with no display only the melody comes !!!
thanks for everything !!! to be frank my father was scolding me like anything he was abt to beat me also !!!
and lastly my model is the same as u mentioned LA40b650t1r !!!
and even the service persons told that once we replaced now we can repair it and give but it wil be charged around 8k to 9k even though it not one month !! its a misuse of the costumer so we cant do it under warranty they told and my father told let the tv be the same dont have to repair !!!

You did nothg wrong, but dunno why it didnt worked for you. I am using the same firmware. Only thing i did different is I upgraded version 1 then version 2 from page you downloaded and you directly did version 2.

Anyways boss I told just before 2-3 post you should have blindly gone for 2005 official version only.


ANYONE WHO IS READING THIS POST PLEASE PLEASE UPDATE ONLY ORIGINAL 2005 VERSION FROM SAMSUNG OFFICIAL SITE AND NOT THE SAMMYGO"s Firmware.
