Thats a nice kit you got there! Congrats!
Please do share some pics with us once it is done. BTW... what materiel are you planning to use for enclosures? Are you considering CNC cutting or local carpenter for enclosure?

I am confused about the build material I may use mdf or wood I am not sure .
I will update about the build.

Congratulations! Jeff Bagby is one of the "patron saints" of the DIY scene and and many others use a lot of the freeware tools that he has given to the community.

He clearly knows his sound so you can hardly go wrong with one of his kits.
of the drivers that comprise that kit, I have heard and used the Rs28a and it is an amazing tweeter for the price. I have not personally heard the Aurum cantus but they are supposed to really clean in the mid range.

have fun building.

Hi ,
Request your opinion for choosing the material for cabinet .Can I go for hardwood like sesame or teak or is it better to stick to MDF or plywood ?
Regards
Somak

Dont gofor timber(wood) for the enclsure-it may not be as good as processed wood. MDF is commonly used since we don't get Baltic Birch plywood here in India. MDF is both cheap and very easily available, is a nuisance to saw-because of the dust generated, and you need to either paint it or use decorative plywood over it(as I do). You could also consider marine grade plywood which is more void free than commercial plywood.

Does using BWR or BWP grade ply impact the SQ? or it doesnt matter.

For sure the plywood will make the speaker enclosure very sturdy and durable.

Generally the quality of plywood used is for a better and more durable build. Cheaper plywood may use inferior glues and the hydraulic presses used for manufacturing may not maintain the temperature and pressure as required, so de-lamination and voids may be more frequent. Marine grade is supposed to be top of the line here in India, BWP is probably the next.

I would guess not. High impedance @ 8 O. So, one might need to do higher volume settings to get the desired loudness w/o clipping issues.

Amit

I have been using good quality MDF for the last 15 years and personally I am quite happy with it and will continue using it. MDF with a outer layer of decorative plywood(not decorative veneer) is what I use for speakers, subwoofers etc.. All the discussion about BWP/BWR/Marine Grade is all very well, but not for me!

Different strokes for different folks.
