Top 5 Shiv Hari Hindi Soundtracks

Thanks Prem for the list. This list leaves out the 3 average quality albums viz., Vijay, Parampara and Sahibaan.

However, special mention should be for their landmark classical album Call of the Valley from 1968. This is one of the best Indian Classical album I have ever heard.

It is also the largest selling classical album of all time in India. Though technically it’s more semi classical. In Bob Dylan’s choice of desert island albums, Call of the Valley features.
Didn't know about the Bob Dylan reference. That's great to know.. :)

BTW, both of them have been a part of R.D. Burman team. Later Pandit Ronu Mazumdar (Flute) and Pandit Ulhas Bapat (Santoor) took the baton. Even I heard, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma has named his son Rahul from Rahul Dev Burman

Pandit Chaurasia and Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma played for all old music directors. Madan Mohan always chose Hari Prasad as his flautist. Jeevan Ki Bagiya from Tere Mere Sapne only had santoor and flute as the main instrumentation played by these two. The legendary Hero theme music is played by Pandit Chaurasia.
