TV Settings Thread

Hi all just received my new sony 46 hx750. I am mainly using it as a pc screen . Can someone tell me the best picture settings for it . The room is moderately lit.
Should i keep separate scene settings when i switch from PC to Tata sky?. The main usage of pc is internet browsing ,movies ,series etc.
Looking forward to the valued reply.

Hi,
I just got my Samsung 40" EH5000 today. I'll appreciate any help with TV settings.

Thanks.

switch the TV to "Movie" mode with picture mode "Warm2"
backlight:14
color:48
brightness:45
contrast:100
tint:50/50
color space: auto
sharpness:13
RGB balance: offset/gain : 25/25/23///23/25/22

My G10 settings are as follows.

For SD and HD:

Profile: Cinema
Contrast 36
Brightness: 0
Colour: 30
Sharpness: 60/40 (SD/HD)
Colour balance: Normal
Colour management: Off
x.v.Colour: Off
Eco-mode: Off
P-NR: Off
Intelligent Frame Creation: Off
3D Comb: On/Off (SD/HD)
W/B High red: -2
W/B High blue: 0
W/B Low red: -4
W/B Low blue: 0

It is almost similar to the settings found at FlatpanelsHD...

let me clarify this.....flatpanelshd is a uk website....and settings of panasonic models in uk are out of 60 not 100 so the correct settings are contrast:60(not 36) colour :50 brightness:0(centre) and sharpness :0

Each Brand and model requires different settings. Again there is no hard and fast rule and it differs from person to person's taste. Hence it is always better to fix the settings with a calibration disc. Can be downloaded from torrent sites.
Fox DVD is one such disc which I have to calibrate picture and HD sound

Hi,
I recently purchased Samsung LED 46F6400. I watch HD, SD content (Dish TV) and USB movie content. It seems my eyes pain a lot with standard setting available on TV.

Viewing Distance = 10FT
Room lighting = ample day light and bright white light (CFL) at night

Current settings -
Picture mode = standard
backlight = 19
Contrast = 80
Brightness = 42
sharpness = 65
color = 44

All suggestions are welcome. Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks in advance !

Other suggestions:

- do not use dynamic/vivid mode, use standard/normal mode
- play around with brightness and contrast so that pic becomes soothing
- use a calibration disc

Hi,

Please share the 51F5500 Plasma setting to be used for initial 200 - 300 hrs.
This is the current setting.
Is it ok to have color 45 or should I reduce further?

Cell light : 8 ( max 20 )
Contrast : 35 ( max 100 )
Brightness: 35 ( max 100 )
Sharpness: 15 ( max 100 )
Color : 45 ( max 100 )

Brightness and contrast was 40. This was fine.
Then I have reduced to 35 ( read in some thread here that initial setting is around 30% brightness and contrast). But the images looks little washed out when all curtains are open.

Model : 42PFL6556
Ambient Conditions : moderately lit room
Typical Usage : HTPC, Videocon D2H, Gaming
Settings used :

Energy Saving : Medium
Contrast : upper mid
Brightness : lower mid
Colour : lower mid
Sharpness : mid

Advanced Settings
Dynamic Contrast : Off
Colour Temperature : Warm
Pixel HD Plus : On
Motion blur : Off

I have always liked warm colors from the beginning when I used to have a BPL FXR :rolleyes:
