I think Optoma also has some full hd pj models in the same range. But if you are from hyderabad you can come and see my pj and then take a call.

I recently bought and installed $499 Optoma HD143X projector. Awesome picture quality and 3d is better than some cinema halls. Will post pictures in a separate thread when get time.

Picture quality is very good. You can try good pull down projector. Or try Diy method, our friend @elangoas will surely help

If you want to try something inexpensive way and if you have a regular wall, then best would be to try out the grey paint from local paint dealer (Asian paints).. I have done that for my bedroom, but did that incorrectly due to experimentation.. Will red-do that at a later stage..

FM danielnaveen2003 & others in a thread have provided detailed inputs on the same.. DIY AT screen also would cost you the same as Grey paint.. (Not more than 5K Max)..
